John Heeren , Ph.D.Duke University, 1975 Professor Heeren's teaching and research interests are in deviant behavior, religion, and sociological theory. He has published articles in these areas in such journals as Sociological Inquiry, The American Sociologist, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Review of Religious Research, Symbolic Interaction, Homicide Studies, and the British Journal of Sociology. In addition, he coedited a reader for Introductory Sociology, Sociology: Windows on Society (Roxbury). Professor Heeren has also presented numerous papers at regional, national, and international meetings. In l989-90, Professor Heeren spent a year in Taiwan lecturing under the Fulbright program. In 2005, Professor Heeren began a new role as Associate Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. |
